Max Metcalf

Max is a 2025 graduate from UAL Camberwell. His work examines speed’s alteration of a subject and studies the consequent dynamic as well as sequences of movement. He conveys this through themes such as boxing, the landscape and technological speed.

Utilising an array of snapshots cut from his own video references, Max overlaps select fragments of this material then depicts this on canvas. His works, typically boasting flicks, curves and blurring techniques, visually indicate traces of speed and motion.
